Skip permits

A skip on the road needs permission from the highway authority, Gloucestershire County Council. Apply and pay by card using the county council's online licence application form. Email and paper applications are not accepted for amendments. Read the skip permit terms and conditions first.

Fee: £90 for a minimum of 28 days; £26.50 per extra 7 days; £62.50 urgent or retrospective fee (non-refundable); £120 per additional site visit. Prices from 1 April 2025.

Apply at least twelve calendar days before the skip is needed; late or urgent applications cost extra. To extend, apply for a renewal giving more than eight calendar days' notice. Covers all six Gloucestershire districts (Cheltenham, Cotswold, Forest of Dean, Gloucester, Stroud, Tewkesbury).
