Skip permits and skip hire in the Dorset Council area
The rules for putting a skip on the road here, and where to find the 13 skip hire firms we list nearby (2 on the Environment Agency waste carrier register).
Skip permits
A skip on the road needs permission from the highway authority, Dorset Council. Hire from a skip company, which applies for the licence. Check the company has a licence and that it will not run out before your work is finished.
Fee: £93 for a new licence (valid 14 days); £47 to renew for another 14 days; £93 charge if the skip is not removed before the licence expires
The skip company must apply at least 2 weeks before the skip is needed.
Only a few bags? Find your local recycling centre (tip).
