Skip permits and skip hire in the North East Lincolnshire Council area
The rules for putting a skip on the road here, and where to find the 14 skip hire firms we list nearby (1 on the Environment Agency waste carrier register).
Skip permits
A skip on the road needs permission from the highway authority, North East Lincolnshire Council. The skip company is responsible for the licence and must be registered; it applies through the council's online skips and scaffolding form.
There is no requirement for a licence where a skip is placed entirely on private property with no encroachment on to the public highway.
Fee: £26 for up to 7 days; £36 for 8 to 14 days; £71 for one month. Extensions: £26 per extra week or £71 per extra month.
Skip companies must provide public liability insurance and Environment Agency registration. Skip bags such as hippobags are covered too.
