Skip permits
A skip on the road needs permission from the highway authority, Wakefield Council. The skip company applies using the council's skip licence form or online road licence request; Streetworks: streetworks@wakefield.gov.uk, 01924 306484.
Fee: £32.13 per application, for a maximum of 14 days (from the council's skip licence application form). Skip on the highway without a licence: £83 penalty per skip.
Phone approval is needed first if the skip will go near traffic signals or junctions, at a bus stop, where parking is restricted or where the road is under 4.5m wide. Full skips must be removed within 2 working days. Skips must be lit at night.
